The stages of fetal development weekly

The stages of fetal development weekly

Pregnancy

There are those who are born before the end of this period, and there are those who delay until the first week of the forty-one, and we notice that the embryo passes through and developments in concrete every day and every week, and these developments are similar to all human embryos by quality Time and period in which it occurs, and we will follow these stages of development every week as follows:

The stages of fetal development weekly

The first stage (1-3) months

First week

It starts from the first day of the menstrual cycle.

second week

It begins when the egg is fertilized with sperm.
The woman’s body begins to prepare for the fetus as soon as the sperm meets the egg.

the third week

After fertilizing the egg, the egg prevents any other sperm from entering it and carries twenty-three pairs of chromosomes. The egg is divided into 46 cells.

fourth week

  • The egg becomes a ball made up of hundreds of hollow cells filled with fluids.
  • It grows into a three-tiered tiny disk.
  • The fourth week also begins to form the beginning of the amino fluid, where this liquid serves as a cushion for the fetus.

The fifth week

  • The embryo is divided into three layers, each layer of which is organs and tissues.
  • The tube that is in the back in the fourth week comes out of the brain, spinal column, nerves and splits from it. The backbone also begins to grow in the upper layer of the back.
  • The heart begins to appear in the middle class.
  • The third layer contains the lung, stomach, and the beginning of the urinary system.
  • At the same time, the primary form of the placenta and umbilical cord that carries food to the embryo are in the initial phase of the onset of their functions.
  • The fetus is about half a centimeter long.

the sixth week

  • The heart of the embryo begins to form and pulse and its size is like a grain of corn.
  • The basic organs begin, such as kidneys and liver growth, and the umbilical cord and fingers are formed as well as below the area where the mouth will be later.
  • A very small part of the neck and lower jaw begins to grow.
  • The facial shape of the face has been growing since the beginning of the week.
  • The stomach continues to form with the appendix appendage.
  • The location of the nasal cavities can be identified and the initial form of the retina begins.
  • The tube, which begins in the fourth week, which connects the brain to the spine, begins this week to close.
  • The buds begin to split and exit (arms, legs) and these small limbs begin to form arms and legs later.

Seventh week

  • The fetus grows larger this week and becomes the size of the bean and becomes 1.25 cm long.
  • The shape and size of the head is relatively larger than the rest of the body.
  • Growth continues to consist of:
    • Facial parts with black spots place the eye and two very small nostrils place.
    • Very small opening ear location.
    • The limb buds begin to appear more clearly, and the hands and feet appear permanently moving like small switches.
    • The pituitary and muscle fibers begin to grow.
    • The heart starts to pulse at about 150 beats per minute, twice the normal pulse rate of an adult.

The eighth week

  • Is one of the most important periods of pregnancy where the fetus begins to grow rapidly and the parts formed in the first weeks begin to grow faster and become more specific.
  • This week the fetus will be the size of the grape.
  • The liver begins to form a large amount of red blood cells until the bone pulp is formed later and begins to do this function instead of the liver.
  • The roof of the throat and teeth begin to form.
  • Fetal skin at this stage is very transparent and light, where it is easy to see the veins inside.
  • The fetus begins to receive food through its umbilical cord attached to the mother’s placenta.

Week Nine

At this stage, the embryo moves to a different stage where the uterus begins to widen and the hand begins to tighten the wrist and the eyelids begin to cover the eye area,
The fetus weighs about 40 grams and is about 2.5 cm long.

Week 10

  • The eyelids are joined with the eye.
  • The wrist continues to grow and the length of the arms increases.
  • The fingers and feet begin to appear.
  • At the end of the eighth week, the internal configuration of the ear ends.
  • Genitals begin in the formation, noting that it is not possible to determine the type of the fetus whether male or female.
  • The placenta is complete and begins to do its full functions, the most important of which is secretion of the hormone.
  • By the end of this week the baby’s length is 3.75 cm and its size is almost like a large almond.

Week Eleven

  • Many details begin to appear like nails and simple whiskers.
  • The growth of essential organs such as liver, kidney, intestines, brain and lungs is completed and they begin to do their work.
  • The front appears high for the head, it occupies half the size of the fetus to a certain extent and for a temporary period.
  • Be able to see the spine as the nerves appear in the spinal cord.
  • The fetus begins this week in the folds.
  • The size of the womb expands and grows this week and becomes the size of grapefruit
  • The embryo becomes approximately 4 cm – 7.5 cm long and weighs approximately 14 grams.

Twelfth week

  • This week is approaching the end of the first stage of pregnancy (1 – 3 months).
  • The growth of essential organs in the fetus is about to end after several weeks.
  • The chance of falling pregnant is greatly diminished with the beginning of this week.
  • Most of the beginnings of organ growth are completed from the tooth buds and the end of the toes.
  • The hand and foot begin to separate from each other.
  • The length of the fetus is now approximately 6.5 cm.

Week 13

  • The fetus’s face this week is more visible and closer to the shape of the normal face.
  • The eyes begin to get closer to each other after they were on both sides of the face.
  • The ear now occupies its natural position on both sides of the head.
  • The liver began to excrete the yellow matter.
  • The kidneys also begin to secrete urine into the bladder.
  • The fetus begins to move very simply but the mother will not feel this movement now.
  • Neurons multiply too much now and the fetal response becomes more effective.
  • The nerves affect the palm of the hand and the fingers become closer together.
  • The muscles of the eye become more firm and firm.
  • The length becomes approximately 7.5 cm and weighs approximately 15 grams.

Week Fourteen

  • Fingerprint has become specific at the fetus.
  • If the fetus is female, there are about 2 million eggs in their ovaries now and will reach only 1 million eggs at birth. This number decreases as they age until they reach about 200,000 eggs at the age of 17 years.
  • The mother’s breast begins to form the material that the child feeds after birth until the beginning of the descent of the milk naturally.
  • The fetal length is now 7.5 – 10 cm and weighs approximately 28 grams.

Fifteenth week

  • The body of the fetus grows at this stage more than the head.
  • The skin of the fetus consists of a capillary cap covering the skin, but disappears after the fetus is born.
  • The eyebrows’ hair grows very slowly, but the shape and color of the hair change after birth.
  • The embryo begins to do some simple movements in its face and limbs and may also begin to suck the thumb. The researchers see these simple movements as a reaction to brain growth.
  • The fetal length is now approximately 7.5 – 8.5 cm and weighs approximately 49 grams.

Week Sixteen

  • The type of fetus (male, female) is determined by sound waves where the genitals have appeared sufficiently.
  • The mother can now feel the movement of the fetus well.
  • The length of the fetus is approximately 11 cm and its size is approximately 154 grams.

Week Seventeen

  • The fetus begins to play and move within the uterus and is used in that umbilical cord that moves and intensifies repeatedly.
  • The circulation of the fetus and the urethra efficiently.
  • The fetus is now exuding and exhaling through the lung.
  • The mother may notice pain on her side if she makes a sudden movement because the ligament on both sides of the uterus and the wall of the pelvis widen as the fetus grows inside you.
  • The fat is formed under the fetal skin.
  • The length of the fetus is approximately 13 cm and weighs approximately 168 grams

Second stage of pregnancy

Eighteenth week

  • A substance called the spinal cord begins to surround the spinal cord in the back.
  • The fetal heartbeat can be listened to by ultrasound.
  • Increased body weight and breadth of the uterus is clearly now appear .

The 19th week

  • The fetus is about 15 cm long.
  • Examine the possibility of any abnormalities or problems in the fetus and also check the umbilical cord.
  • The mother sees the fetal mammogram clearly as he moves, kicking or sucking his fingers.
  • If the female fetus has now been formed vagina, uterus and fallopian tube.
  • If male male genital organs have been formed.

Week Twenty

  • The kidney begins to form urine.
  • Scalp hair began to grow during this phase.
  • The growth of the senses reaches its peak this week.
  • Neurons serve all five senses of taste – sniff – hear – sight – touch.
  • All these senses now grow in their specific places in the brain.
  • Brain neurons grow and become more complex.
  • If the fetus is female, it now has about 6 million eggs in the womb, but most of these eggs explode during growth and the fetus is born with only about one million eggs.
  • The fetus is now approximately 16 cm tall and weighs approximately 253 grams.

Twenty-first week

  • The fetus’s growth and weight gain continue to be great now for its warm survival after childbirth.
  • A white fatty substance covering the skin of the embryo begins to protect it while remaining in the fluid and also facilitates fetal delivery.
  • The fetus swallows a large amount of fluid this week, which helps to activate the digestive system.
  • The body of the embryo after ingestion of the fluid of the line in the absorption of water and transfer the rest of the contents of the liquid to the intestines.
  • The fetus now needs iron to form red blood cells. Foods containing iron include:
    • Fat-free red meat.
    • Meat of birds and poultry.
    • Fish.
    • Lentils.
    • Spang.

Week Twenty Two
