Hormone analysis
Hormone analysis is a medical analysis performed by women to analyze sex hormones, which are hormones responsible for their reproductive health, and include a group of hormones analyzed by women, and there are some hormones that a woman should be examined by women on the second day of the menstrual cycle
(FSH) and (LH).
Cases requiring women to conduct analysis
When a woman’s pregnancy is delayed, she goes to the gynecologist and one of the tests included in the diagnosis is hormone analysis. As the woman needs to see the doctor when the delay or irregularity of the menstrual cycle, the doctor requires the work of analysis of hormones, and are examined hormones in the case of a polycystic ovaries because PCOS may occur in some cases a defect in the hormones.
Hormones analyzed by women
Hormone (FSH)
It is an abbreviation for Fertile Stimulating Hormone, a hormone that activates ovarian follicles and helps to form an egg and reach its size between 22 mm and 26 mm.
Natural levels of hormone (FSH):
- The first half of the follicular cycle is 4 to 13 in IU / L.
- The time of ovulation is called the “Mid cycle” and the percentage of 5-22 in the unit (IU / L).
- The second half of the menstrual cycle (Luteal) is 2-13 in the unit (IU / L).
- The period of menopause (postmenopausal) is between 20-138 per unit (IU / L).
Hormone (LH)
It is an abbreviation of Luteinizing Hormone, the hormone responsible for the oocyte exit of the follicle and excreted from the pituitary gland in the body.
LH levels:
- The first half of the follicular cycle is 1-18 in IU / L.
- The time of ovulation is called the “Mid cycle”, which is from (24-105 in IU / L).
- The second half of the menstrual period (Luteal), which is from (0.40-20 in IU / L).
- Postmenopausal period (15-62 in IU / L).
Milk hormone (Prolactin)
It is the hormone responsible for milk production in the breast and reaches its normal level (575 in IU / L) and up to 25 (ng / ml).
Male hormone (testosterone)
It is an analysis of the male hormone in the body and the doctor requests it with the usual examination of hormones, especially if the woman appears to have a lot of hair in most areas of her body, and the normal level of hormone in the female is from (0.14-14.62 per unit pmol / L), and 0.04 to 4.20 per unit (pg / ml).
Progesterone
Which is the hormone that works to prepare the uterus for pregnancy as it works to increase the thickness of the lining of the uterus until it is ready for pregnancy and excreted in the second half of the menstrual cycle. The hormone is low at the beginning of the cycle and then rises in the middle of the cycle, ie in the stage of ovulation and then decreases at the end of the cycle.
