Degrees of burns
The burns are divided into three degrees, which determine how the treatment and how much time it takes, and also determines the complications and how the skin will be after exposure, and be as follows:
- First degree burns, which result from exposure to mild or strong heat but for a short period, usually due to exposure to the sun for a long time, the skin becomes red result and causes mild pain, and the recovery period of four to five days to go after that Its effects on the skin completely.
- Second-degree burns, stronger and deeper than the first due to exposure to a temperature of a few but for a very long time, and include two types:
- Surface burns: accompanied by the emergence of a group of sticky bubbles filled with a mixture of salts and water and various organic materials, produced because of the separation of the surface layer of the skin from the deeper layer, and need to heal about two weeks to eliminate their effects in the long term.
- Deep burns: accompanied by excessive redness of the skin accompanied by the appearance of white spots, and takes time of treatment between twenty-one days to a month, but this type of burns accompanied by a change in skin color to become lighter or more dark, in addition to the change in thickness Skin layer.
- Burns the third degree, which is the most serious and the deepest types of burns; because it destroys the entire layers of the skin and reaches below the muscles and fat in addition to bone, while the length of treatment is very long, including surgery, and it leaves a significant impact on the body of the patient is a deformities.
Treatment of burns
Burns are treated in two stages:
- Stage 1: The treatment that follows the exposure to burn directly, and through the disposal of clothing covering the burned skin, and put cold water on it for ten minutes, to prevent injury to the layers of the lower skin, in addition to prevent the development of the degree of burning, Skin and patient transfer to hospital.
- The second stage: which is in the hospital, and here is the patient is presented to a doctor specializing in beauty and restoration, to determine the degree of burning and the seriousness of the addition, in addition to the area that will extend the burning.
