Weaning
Weaning is the gradual transformation of the baby from breast feeding or artificial feeding to solid food. This process starts from the first months of the child’s life when the mother enters orange juice in the form of simple drops in the first month of life to compensate for vitamin C deficiency in his body , And weaning is not only preventing the baby from breastfeeding, as is common among many lactating mothers, but is the introduction of external food for the child as support meals with the mother’s milk until weaning age begins and depends entirely on food.
His time
It is supposed to begin to accustom the child to eat since the fourth month; because the child at this stage is able to digest some types of light foods such as: vegetables and fruits boiled, and here begins a difficult stage for both the child and mother, the child is not aware of what things are offered to him He can not chew or swallow them, so the role of the mother here is multiplier in convincing her child to eat and teach him how to deal with him through some movements that encourage him to eat.
The baby begins to eat orange juice at the age of one month as I mentioned earlier due to lack of vitamin C in his body.
- At the age of four months to the age of six months: start with the introduction of ground cereals such as Serlak as a main meal twice in two days, giving the child some vegetables and fruits boiled.
- We start by introducing milk, meat, and eggs at the age of seven months to the age of nine months, starting with giving the child the first white meat and then the red meat, and eggs.
- After the age of the year we start to introduce legumes, cereals, cheeses. The diversity begins in food so that the child from one to two years can eat from the family food provided that it is not rich in spices and pepper.
Steps to weaning the child by two years
- Getting the child to sit on his seat at the time of food with the family and participate in it, which motivates him to eat until satiety and begins to gradually dispense with the daytime feeds he was eating.
- Let the child play a lot and this makes him forget the order of breastfeeding especially that he did not feel hungry.
- Prepare the food in a way that stimulates the child to eat it, such as the mother cutting the fruit in the form of fingers, or drawing the faces of the favorite meals to eat with joy.
- Providing food to the child in dishes and cups colorful and beautiful fees, and prevent his brothers from tampering with him in front of him feel independent and makes him like to eat at the time of each meal.
- Taking the child out of the house from time to time makes him gradually forget his mother’s breasts, and give him snacks in excursions such as: cracking cakes, biscuits, or fruits.
- When sleeping, the mother should make sure that the child does not make any breast-feeding, as well as good at supper, to sleep quickly without thinking of breastfeeding.
