Method of calculating the weight of the child

The normal weight of the baby

The weight of the child reflects his or her health, so every mother who keeps the health of her children seeks to provide them with integrated health food. She continues to watch the weight of her child and remains puzzled, especially if he is her first child. Here is an easy way to calculate their weight.

Calculate the weight of the child

Ideal child weight

The ideal child weight at every stage of his life, from the moment of birth until the age of 3 years:

  • The normal child weight at birth is 3 to 3.5 kg.
  • During the first four months, the child weighs up to 1.25 kg.
  • When the child is six months old, he weighs approximately 7 kg.
  • The child weighs 8 kg when completed the eighth month, but once the baby is nine month, the weight gain increases by approximately 205 grams per month until it reaches 10 kg or 10.5 kg at the age of one year.
  • After the child completes the year, the weight increases by 4 kg per year.
  • When the baby is two years old, the weight should be 4 times its weight at birth.

Method of calculating the weight of the child

Calculate weight

There is an easy and simple equation to calculate the weight of the child as follows: (child’s age x 2) + 8 = child weight (kg)

Example: If we assume that the child is two years old, what is the normal weight?

Apply equation (2 × 2) + 8 = 12 kg.

Calculate height

Calculation of height: (child’s age x 5) + 80 = height of child in centimeters:

If we assume the age of the child 3 years, the height:
(3 x 5) + 80 = 95 cm.

There should be a balance between the weight and height of the child, as there should be a natural growth in weight and height together, and the most important factors that help to increase the weight and height in a steady and natural way when the child is breastfed in the first stage of the child’s life, but if the child’s food is adopted at this stage on formula milk, it affects the child and causes him so-called child obesity, and the post-weaning phase should be as balanced and integrated as possible, but if the mother noticed a problem when measuring the weight or height of the child, check your doctor for the problem and try to cure it.
