Teething is one of the natural stages experienced by every child. It often begins to appear after the age of six months and some children appear in the third month, where the lower incisors first appear, and end with the upper backbones after the end of the second year of the child which are called white teeth. Teeth The child suffers from problems such as: feeling of pain, high temperature, swelling of the gums, diarrhea, and excessive salivation.

The child is born without teeth and then appear teeth gradually over two years of the child’s age, as the function of these teeth is the chopping and grinding of food to facilitate digestion in the stomach and benefit from it, and rare cases that the child is born teeth and often the lower or upper teeth, A problem for the mother when breastfeeding because the child bites them causing pain to his mother.

Stages of appearance of teeth

  • Middle lower incisors: The first teeth to appear in the child are the lower teeth, the middle lower incisors during the sixth month of the child’s age.
  • Lower upper incisors: After about two months on the appearance of lower teeth, the upper teeth begin to appear, the upper upper incisors in the foreground.
  • Upper side incisors: They appear after about four months.
  • Lower side incisions: Often appear two months after the appearance of upper lateral incisors.

Tips for parents during teething phase

Parents may not be able to help their child to appear because they appear alone, but they may be able to help them by relieving pain for the child by following the following:

  • Provide a cool thing for the child when he feels pain such as: carrots, peeled, cold or bread, keeping in mind with the child during this period to avoid suffocation.
  • At this stage, the child prefers chilled food such as yoghurt, or mashed apples from the refrigerator; refrigerated food relieves pain in the child.
  • The baby’s gums can be rubbed gently with a teething tip from the pharmacy, free from sugar or with a cool, clean cotton cloth.
  • If your child is suffering from high fever or diarrhea, check with your doctor immediately. Your child may have a special ear infection or may have a specific illness.
