What are the benefits of breastfeeding for the baby from the mother’s breast?

The divine statement came to emphasize the importance of breast-feeding, God says (and the parents give their children full turns for those who want to be breastfed) [Al-Baqarah: 233]. The Holy Prophet confirmed this to the extent that he said: “It is haraam to breastfeed what is haraam from descent.” The modern science in thousands of research and scientific articles to emphasize the importance of breast milk for children and the serious effects that result from the replacement of artificial milk.

Breast milk contains a natural antibiotic that protects the child from many diseases and strengthens the immune system against all forms of disease (1991, Institute of Medicine, p. 134-37). Mother’s milk also contains anti-bacterial substances, toxins and bacteria that help the child to resist poisoning.

Studies (such as the Iowa Extension Service) confirm that one tablespoon of the mother’s milk contains antibiotics that kill 3 million germs !! Therefore, even if a child takes one tablespoon of his mother’s milk, it will be of great benefit.

The mother’s milk is sterile and ready for use and does not need sterilization or preparation until it is temperature suitable for the child (does not need to heat). The mother’s milk does not cause any sensitivity to the baby and protects him from many serious diseases such as diabetes, atherosclerosis, some types of cancer, rickets, obesity, kidney disease and many diseases.

There is an important thing that is characteristic of breast milk. This feature does not exist in any other type of milk. It develops with the growth of the child and is proportional to the growth of the body. Unlike the fixed formula milk, we need to change it every few months as the baby grows.

For newly born babies, breast milk is considered the easiest to digest because it contains digestive enzymes. Breastfeeding also benefits the mother and protects her against breast cancer. Also, the first doses for a newborn child contain a high concentration of proteins against the growth of bacteria and give it large amounts of antibodies to diseases and is in this case most needed.

The breastfeeding of the child reflects positively on the stability of his psychological state and protect him from many mental disorders and the reason is that breast milk is the ideal food for the body organs of the child and the performance and stability. The mother’s milk also helps the child to develop his intelligence and affect the child’s behavior positively and good building his body and mind.
