gold
Gold is a very precious metal, also a chemical element of the symbol Au. Its atomic number is 79 according to the atomic table. Its color is bright yellow and can be formulated. It is also used in the manufacture of gems and ornaments.
Gold is found in nature in the form of granules in the bottoms of rivers and rocks, or may be in the form of veins in the ground, and discovered the largest gold mass in 1896 in Australia, which weighs about (2.280) ounces. Gold is distinguished from other elements by its softness, low corrosion, and density.
Gold industry
The gold industry goes through three stages:
- Determination of the gold standard: It may be a gold alloy with a bullet (24) or may be a gold break, in the case of a gold alloy is converted to different caliber (18 or 21 or 22) and through the equation of the calculation of that, by mixing gold with other elements, If the fraction is gone, it is necessary to know the caliber number and then treat it by adjusting the missing caliber as required.
- Stabilize the stones, and take the following steps:
- Detect the gold piece and place any notes on it.
- Clean the piece of gold, then refine it by dissolving in special ovens, and then put in special molds.
- Clean the polished piece again with chemicals.
- Transfer it to a machine called the vibrator machine in order to give it color by caliber; since each caliber of gold has a color that distinguishes it from the other.
- Final control: in which the caliber number is stamped and then marketed.
Uses of gold
Gold is used in many fields, because of its characteristics that distinguish it from other elements and metals; it is mixed with other elements such as silver, copper and nickel; to be more thick, and the areas of use include:
- Jewelry: Gold is used in the manufacture of jewelry by mixing elements, such as: zinc and copper in varying proportions, resulting in different gold coins, and this is in relation to the yellow gold jewelry, while white gold jewelry is mixed with palladium or tin to become white, which is used in jewelry sets.
- Medicine: Medicine uses gold solution in the treatment of osteoporosis, dentistry and rheumatism; for its integrity and its ability to resist corrosion, radioactive gold is used in the treatment of cancer.
- Investment: There are many gold owners who store it in the form of coins or alloys, to avoid economic disturbances such as inflation.
