Emerald Stone
Emerald stone is a kind of rare gemstone, but it is more precious than other stones. It is a transparent stone of a crystalline nature. It is characterized by a beautiful dark green color, because it contains chrome, which gives it green color, and does not change color if it is exposed to sunlight or strong light. Its color has increased and a few impurities have become more precious.
Emerald contains a beryl, which gives emeralds strength and hardness; to contain beryl on salts, aluminum silicate and beryllium, emeralds are extracted from rock mines containing marble and hard rock.
Types
There are several types of emeralds, classified according to the color difference between them:
- The fly emerald, which has a beautiful color resembling the color of the spring fly, is therefore called the fly emerald, and is considered the best type of emerald.
- Emerald, which is similar in color to the leaves of soft leaves.
- Emerald Rihani, which is similar in color to basil leaves.
- Emerald is a semiprecious emerald and has no value like other emeralds, but its color is similar to the color of green soap.
The original emerald specification
There are several specifications of the original emeralds, such as the ability to break the light that is exposed to it, and also characterized by its ability to glow and the nature of the brilliant, in addition to the degrees of color, and can be through these specifications to detect the original emeralds and disperse the emerald, taking into account the following:
- The light of the emerald stone is well cleaned from the sediment, and even the effects of fingers on it using a cloth, then we cast a strong light on the emerald stone to reflect the light, and put a white card in front of the stone to do a reversal of light reflected, which resulting in refraction of light within the emerald stone, and the occurrence of refraction within the stone indicates that the emerald is original.
- Its ability to glow, after passing through the light, produces a green glow due to the natural impurities in the emerald stone. This is the glow that distinguishes the emeralds from others. Glass or crystal is clean of impurities and produces a clean light.
- Scanning using a microscope, where we place the emerald stone under the microscope, and we check the composition of the emerald stone and search for natural impurities in the stone, or contain crystalline lines or cracks in the form of spectra, distinguish emerald stone and other difficult to imitate.
- There are several devices that scan the original emeralds or any other precious stones, such as refractive index, spectral decomposition device and others.
