Reasons for changing the color of accessories

This is a problem for many ladies, as the majority of them are forced to get rid of these pieces, although they are not used very much, and the reason for the change in color may be due to:

  • Mixing the accessories with each other.
  • Accessories for moisture, chemicals or water are exposed for a long time.

Protect accessories from rust

  • Remove the accessories from the hands before washing them in order to protect them from moisture.
  • Apply a layer of transparent nail polish to the inner part of the accessory piece; it will act as an insulating layer of sweat, helping to preserve the color of the accessory and avoid dyeing it on the skin.
  • Wear accessories after finishing makeup and perfume, preferably wearing them immediately before leaving home to avoid exposure to chemicals that damage their colors.
  • Put the accessories in a sealed box to avoid exposing them to the air, as the air is easy to rust.
  • Storage of accessories in a manner that prevents friction, preferably separating pieces that are of the same metal from each other.
  • Continue cleaning accessories to avoid dirt on them because their accumulation will change color.
  • Put some rice grains, or chalk pieces with accessory pieces, as they draw moisture, and keep it.
  • Place small silica bags that are kept with new shoes with accessory cutters as they work to protect them from moisture and keep them from rust.

Ways to get rid of rust

  • Cleaning the accessories with carbonated water, lemon, or tooth salt. These materials will help to remove the rust from accessories and remove the blackness from them. However, if the rust is oxidized by the iron material, this method will not be effective but will only hide the epithelial material on the piece.
  • Put the ash powder with the lemon. It works to remove the blackness that accumulate on the accessory.
  • Using a piece of water-soluble tin helps clean iron accessories.
