Ways to clean silver at home
Silver is one of the precious metals found in nature, symbolized by Ag, and is considered one of the most widely used metals in many industries such as trays, chains, bracelets, jewelry, coins and many others. So it is necessary to follow natural methods of cleaning them at home without having to go to the shops of goldsmiths, which we will talk about in this article.
Baking soda
Place two tablespoons of pure water, a quarter cup of powdered baking soda in a bowl and mix well, then put the pieces of silver and rub them well for five minutes, then wash with water, or can be used in another way. Put four cups of hot water, and a large spoon of soda in a saucepan and leave the mixture to boil, then place the pieces of silver in tin foil and drop it into the hot water and leave it for at least one minute, and then remove it from the water with iron forceps and let it dry completely.
Laundry soap
Put four cups of hot water, a tablespoon of the favorite laundry soap in a bowl, then put the pieces of silver in aluminum foil and close it well, then drop it in the container and leave it for two minutes, and then set aside and then remove it from the water to cool.
Ketchup
Put a sufficient amount of ketchup in a pot, then put the pieces of silver in it and rub it well for five minutes, then wash it with water, or put a little ketchup on a toothbrush and rub the pieces of silver well for two minutes, and then wash well with water.
Corn Starch
Place three tablespoons of cornstarch, 1/4 cup of water in a bowl, mix well to get a paste, then rub with dough for five minutes, then rub it with a rough toothbrush, then wash it thoroughly with water.
Lemon juice and soda carbonate
Place a glass of lemon juice, two tablespoons of soda carbon in a bowl and mix well, then put the pieces of silver and leave it for at least an hour, and then washed well with water to get rid of the effects of carbonates.
Toothpaste
Put a little toothpaste on the pieces of silver and rub for ten minutes, and then washed thoroughly with water, and toothpaste is one of the most safe means used to remove rust from silver.
Glass Cleaner
Put a little glass cleaner on the pieces of silver and rub it for five minutes with a rough brush, then wash it with water.
Vinegar
Place two tablespoons of powdered baking soda, a quarter cup of white vinegar in a bowl and mix well, then put the pieces of silver and leave for at least two hours, and then washed well with water to get rid of the smell of vinegar.
Milk and lemon juice
Place half a cup of liquid milk, a cup of water, plus a tablespoon of lemon juice in a bowl and mix well, then put the silver pieces and leave it for at least eight hours, then washed with warm water well.
