Ear health
Earache is a common condition among people, and children suffer more than adults. The patient may suffer from pain in both ears, but in most cases comes from one of them. The nature of the pain varies from case to case; from it it is described as acute or burning, or may come continuously, or intermittently. The earache may be accompanied by a rise in temperature or temporary loss of hearing. In children, however, the child becomes confused and irritable and tends to rub his or her ear continuously.
Causes of earache
Ear pain may occur following several causes, but the most common are:
- Ear infection.
- Ear gum is collected in large quantities.
- A change in pressure in the surrounding environment, such as what happens when a plane is on board.
- The infection of the throat; as well as that produced from the Streptococcus bacteria.
- The presence of a foreign object inside the ear.
- Sinus infection.
- Pool water or soap inside the ear.
- There are less common causes of ear pain, such as a hole in the eardrum, inflammation of the jaw joints, inflammation of the teeth, or eczema in the atrial canal.
What a cure for earache
There are many ways to treat the earache, including the use of certain types of medications, including the use of natural mixtures, which may be repeated several times a day to relieve ear pain. The best and most effective methods are:
- Taking over-the-counter painkillers, such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or naproxen, often meet these needs.
- Apply warm water to the infected ear because it has a role in relieving the pain.
- Anticonvulsants, or antihistamines, in the case of an estacus in the ear.
- In the case of ear infection may be resorted to the use of antibiotics to work to fight this inflammation, and thus reduce the ear pain resulting from it. As well as in the case of sinusitis, or inflammation of the teeth.
- Chewing gum to reduce the effects of pressure on the ear.
- Sitting upright may help relieve ear pain.
- The use of olive oil, because it has the advantages of moisturizing, and resistant to inflammation, and uses olive oil either distillation 3 or 4 drops of it in the ear infected, or dipping the cotton ear and then put it in the ear.
- Use of garlic: It is used if the pain comes from ear infection, as it has analgesic properties of pain and anti-inflammatory. Heat a tablespoon of ground garlic in two tablespoons of sesame oil, then let cool and drain the oil, then put a few drops of this oil in the affected ear.
- The use of onions, as it is considered one of the most common home remedies for ear treatment is abundant and used, due to its analgesic properties and resistance to inflammation. It is used to extract the crushed onion juice and then heat it at low temperature, and then distill two or three drops of it in the infected ear, and repeat it to two or three times a day.
- Ginger: It has a great role in fighting infection and relieving pain. Use fresh ginger extract and place it directly in the affected ear. Another way to use it is to mix it with olive oil, then leave the mixture to mix well for 5 or 10 minutes and then use it as a drop of the infected ear.
- The use of mint, whether by exploiting his leaves or his neck, as both help to relieve ear pain. The way to use it is to put the squeezer in the dropper and distill it in the infected ear, or put the mint oil on the ear cotton and then wipe it on the opening of the ear from the outside, while avoiding entry into the ear.
- Using basil, it is a good treatment for ear pain, as it is considered a natural habitat, and resistant to infection and inflammation. It is useful to extract the useful strain after grinding the leaves, and then put a few drops of this juice in the infected ear, and applied this method once or twice a day.
- Use the hair dryer after bathing; avoid drying the ears using the towel; in order to rid the ear of the moisture lingering inside. This is done by placing the dryer on the warm position and holding it away from the ear, while keeping it unused for more than five consecutive minutes.
- Take medications that help get rid of ear gum. Your doctor may also use earwashing to do this, or you may use a suction device to remove the gum.
- The use of Neem or Indian lychee: This plant has great benefits, it works to relieve pain, and resistance to bacterial and fungal infections. It is used to extract the pulp from the leaves, and distillation in the infected ear.
Cases where you should see your doctor
There are symptoms and signs that may indicate more serious problems and require medical intervention. Since ear pain is often suffered by children, parents should observe and see a doctor if the child has suffered from one of the following conditions:
- Extremely high temperature and durable.
- If the person suffers from severe pain in the ear and then suddenly disappears; this may indicate the hole in the eardrum.
- If ear pain is severe and can not be tolerated, if it worsens, or does not improve after a day or two.
- If accompanied by dizziness or severe pain in the head.
- In the case of swollen or swollen tissues around the ear.
