Tonsils
They are two clusters of lymph nodes that are distributed on both sides of the throat. These are the first line of defense against the disease. They also produce white blood cells (specifically T cells) that help the body fight the infection. The tonsillitis function is an immune and protective function. Symptoms of tonsillitis

- Pain in the throat.
- Redness of the tonsils.

- Gonorrhea is a result of difficulty swallowing.
- High temperature and chills.

Causes of tonsillitis
Tonsillitis can occur due to a bacterial or viral infection, but most cases of tonsillitis are caused by viruses that attack the body and are treated by tonsils, including viruses:
- Nasal viruses : Are viruses that cause colds.
- Influenza virus .
- Flu – like virus : The cause of laryngitis.
- Intestinal viruses : Causing disease (hand, foot and mouth).
- Food viruses : A common cause of diarrhea.
- German measles virus : The cause of measles.
- Tonsillitis of the Epstein Barr virus : Which is rare and causes glaucoma in turn.
Bacterial tonsillitis is usually caused by infection with streptococcal bacteria, with several types of bacteria causing it. There have been several types of serious infections such as diphtheria and rheumatic fever.
Cases that require a doctor
An accurate diagnosis is necessary if the child has symptoms of tonsillitis, so consult your doctor if:
- If the patient suffered from sore throat and did not recover within 24 to 48 hours.
- If there is pain or difficulty swallowing, or difficulty breathing.

Complications of tonsillitis

Home Therapy
Whether the inflammation of the tonsils Fervosia or bacteria, home remedies can reduce the effects of inflammation and accelerate the healing of the patient, and these are the only treatment methods for viral tonsillitis, as the giving of antibiotics is not useful in this case, and often improve the patient in a period of one week to 10 days. Home remedies include:
- Full comfort.
- Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.
- Eat hot drinks and cool popsicles to moisten the throat and reduce inflammation.
- Rinse with warm water and salt, so parents should be careful not to swallow the baby solution.
- Take sweetened sucking tablets to relieve sore throat, and is recommended for children older than 4 years.
- Avoid irritants: such as smoking and detergents.
- Treatment of high fever and pain, and is not advised to take any medicines if the temperature rise slightly.
Antibiotics
It is used only in the case of bacterial tonsillitis. Penicillin is usually administered to treat inflammation caused by streptococcal bacteria and is taken in the form of oral tablets for 10 days.
Surgery
The tonsillitis surgery is performed to treat frequent recurrent infections, chronic inflammation, or non-antibiotic bacterial infection, and may be performed to eliminate the complications mentioned earlier.
