What is sneezing
Pimple is the descent of blood from the nose due to damaged blood vessels in the mucosa.
There are two types of sneezing:
- Anterior nosebleed: It is known, where the blood flows from the nose forward, and is most often simple.
- Back pain: It is less common, where blood is shed in the mouth and pharynx and may cause choking on arrival to the lung so it is considered a dangerous type and may threaten life.
Causes of symptomatic haemorrhage
- Wounds: It occurs due to the insertion of the finger in the nose, or because of an accident or entry of a foreign object inside the nasal cavity.
- Exposure to severe environmental hazards: such as increased atmospheric pressure at altitude, high temperatures and exposure to sunstroke.
Causes of chronic haemorrhage
- Infections: such as sinusitis.
- Drug abuse, especially cocaine.
- Some treatments: such as postoperative bleeding, treatment of oxygen that causes dehydration and weakens blood vessels in the nose, in addition to some medications.
- Tumors are benign and malignant.
- Hypertension.
Treatment of sneezing
Usually, the nosebleed is simple, especially if it is of the frontal type and is not chronic (not repeated continuously). It can be cured by following simple first aid with the following steps:
- The patient sits in a normal sitting position with the head slightly bent forward, to avoid suffocation resulting from blood entering the lungs.
- Press the patient’s nose with thumb and forefinger for 10 minutes.
- Apply as cold water to the forehead above the nose (the point of the eyebrows).
- Reassure the patient and avoid exposing him to anxiety and fear.
- Try to reduce the movement of the patient and do any physical effort until the bleeding stops completely.
The patient should be taken to the doctor in the following cases:
- Bleeding lasts for more than a quarter of an hour.
- If bleeding occurs after an accident or a direct blow to the nose.
- If the patient is suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure or any other diseases in the blood.
- If the bleeding is back, this can be seen from the septicemia of the mouth and even the patient in the sitting position.
- If any complications or symptoms accompany bleeding, such as choking, fatigue, headaches, etc.
It is especially possible for people who are very vulnerable to it, such as the elderly, the elderly and the sensitive bodies. Everyone knows the nature of his body and must take care of himself and take appropriate preventive measures, including:
- Stay away from hot weather and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
- Avoid inserting the finger or any foreign object into the nasal cavity.
- Avoid direct nose strikes as much as possible.
