How to dye clothing

We may want to change the colors of our clothes for a number of reasons, including that the colors of some clothes may change over time, or because the color of trousers does not fit the color of the jacket we bought, or because we tired of the color of the dress we want to give it another color, and the only solution to do so is to dye this clothes. In contrast to what we may think, dyeing clothes is not difficult as there are several ways to do this. Here are some of these methods explained in simple and clear steps.

Washing machine method

  • Put a quantity of water inside the washing machine so that it is enough to move the clothes freely.
  • Put the dye of clothing in quantities mentioned on the packaging of the dye.
  • Wet the clothes with hot water.
  • Remove any wrinkles from the clothes, put them in the dye bath we attended.
  • Wash in the washing machine on the longest washing cycle. The clothes should be kept for at least half an hour before the washing machine can be rinsed. The washing machine can be re-calibrated before it is rinsed as needed.
  • Rinse the clothes with cold water until the water comes out clean without any color, and wash the dark clothes with warm water first and then rinse with cold water.
  • Dry the clothes either by washing or by putting them on the clothesline.
  • Clean the washer from the pigment residue using the highest level of water, use warm water, and a cup of ovary.

How to dye clothes in laundry or bucket

  • Fill the laundry or bucket with enough hot water.
  • Add the dye to the water and stir the mixture.
  • Repeat steps 3 and 4 of the previous method.
  • Put the clothes in the dye bath, move the clothes continuously for ten minutes to half an hour, and change the direction of the movement constantly from right to left, from top to bottom, and from side to side.
  • Rinse the clothes with warm water, and gradually rinse them with lukewarm water until the water comes out clean from the dye.
  • Wash clothes with warm water with a gentle cloth cleaner.
  • Rinse clothes again with cold water.
  • Dry the clothes, wash the sink or bucket directly with bleach.

Preparation of the dye of natural materials

  • We choose the right color for the dye, we can choose the plants and fruits suitable for the color we want, where we can bring the orange color of onion peel, carrot roots, and other, brown color of tea bags, coffee, pink color of strawberry, cherry, about the natural sources of color we want.
  • We collect the materials we want, and any plant we choose must be fully ripe.
  • We cut the selected plant into small pieces, move it to the pot, and the size of the pot must be double the size of the clothes we want to dye.
  • Leave the paint on the fire, and fill the pot with water and leave it to boil on high heat, and then reduce the heat, and leave the mixture until it becomes thick for an hour.
  • Drain the mixture from the plant residue and return the dye to the pot.
