How to get rid of gum in clothes

Freezing

Ice is used to remove gum from clothing in several ways:

  • Using snow directly: This method is used to remove gum from heavy or thick clothing by placing some of the ice cubes in the milling bag, then place the bag on the spot and leave it until the gum is completely frozen, then rinse with a sharp knife.
  • Milling clothes: The method is used to remove gum from sensitive garments by placing the clothing piece in the milling bag until it is frozen, then scraping the remaining gum using a toothbrush, or by rubbing it with a cube of ice.
  • Use ice with washing detergent: Place a cube of ice down the piece of clothing and directly under the gum, place another piece over gum directly, leave the snow for about half an hour until it freezes, then remove it and put the garment piece on a flat surface, and scrape using the edge of the knife, then wash the place using a washing detergent.

Heating

Heating means the use of a thermal source indirectly, and the most prominent methods of heating use:

  • Hair Dryer: Put the hair dryer on the gum to dissolve it, then remove it from the piece by hand.
  • Iron: Place a piece of cardboard on the ironing table or on a flat surface, place the piece of clothing from the direction of the gum over the cardboard, and then piece the clothes from the other direction for several minutes, the heat should be high enough to melt the gum to stick to the cardboard.

Other ways to remove frankincense

There are several ways to remove frankincense, including:

  • Lemonade: Soak the clothing piece into lemon juice, then rub the gum with a sharp edge, and then wash the piece in the washing machine.
  • hair gel: Spray the hair straightener on the gum , leave it until harden, then scrape the gum .
  • Vinegar: Soak the clothing piece into hot water, then rub the gum using a gently sharp tool; to avoid damaging the piece.
