Failure to empty the ducts of milk entirely by the newborn or wearing a tight corset may cause clogged ducts. Burning and lump in the breast may be an indicator of the problem
Examine the nipple carefully to look for any small dry milk points and remove them with gentle cleaning. This helps to make the canal clean itself with continuous feeding in the affected part within 24 hours
Immerse the breast by constant pressure from the chest wall to the nipple to develop the milk flow
Put the baby on the nipple so that all the channels are emptied
Make sure you have your first infected breast first as sucking the baby is stronger at first
