The thyroid gland is located at the front of the neck. It surrounds the trachea and its color is reddish. The thyroid gland is an endocrine that transmits its secretions directly to the blood without the need for blood vessels. Causes of increased thyroid secretions

Causes of hypothyroidism

  • Pituitary gland dysfunction.

The lack of thyroid secretions can be treated by taking thyroid hormone pills to compensate for thyroid hormone deficiency and its quick effect improves the patient after two weeks and the patient may need to use it for life.

Treatment of increased thyroid secretion

  • Antihypertensive drugs.
  • Surgical removal of the gland if the patient does not respond to medication.
  • Eat iodine.
