There are hundreds of treatments used in baldness but in reality do not exceed the roads
Pharmacologically Approved Pharmacology Three methods will be reviewed in this article with more details on hair transplantation.
Method 1: Localized treatment with minoxidil. It is a liquid placed on the affected area in the form of sprays or points and helps in the growth of hair. It is used daily for at least six months. And gives good results, especially in the initial cases which is primarily prevents further fall and promotes the growth of existing hair. But its main problem is that its results are temporary. When the patient stops using the treatment after three months, the hair begins to fall and the condition returns almost six months after stopping. The side effects of this treatment is to get irritation and itching especially with the use of high concentration of this medicine.
Method 2: The use of finasteride, the same drug used to treat prostate enlargement in men, but we use only five doses here. This drug is not given to women who are exposed to pregnancy because it causes side effects on the fetus. This drug is taken orally in the form of pills on a daily basis for at least six months. It helps in the growth of hair and stops the fall. It is a rare side effect that affects the marital relationship in men. As in the first method, this drug is effective but has a temporary effect that is eliminated after discontinuation of the drug for several months.
Method 3: This is the only method that gives lasting results. After the success of the process and the growth of hair in the bald area, hair grows after three to six months naturally and continues to grow and can be cut and connected without affecting the hair . Scientific research has revealed that the hair in the back of the head is not exposed to baldness and when transferred to the front of the head it retains the same property and does not fall.
This method has been used for several decades but has undergone stages of development and quality transfers. It started in the seventies by circular circular biopsies, where circular pieces of the back of the head, 3 or 4 millimeters of the back area are moved and openings of suitable size at the front of the head to install these biopsies containing many hair follicles. Although this method is easy and fast but the results were unsatisfactory for the emergence of circular scarred (hair free) in the donor region is the back of the head as well as the emergence of hair in the area planted (receiving) in clusters resembling the hair of the doll.
And then began to develop in the nineties and began to reduce the size of biopsies until the emergence of the cultivation of hair units FUT and in this way transfer hair units distributed natural, the unit contains one or two hair or three or rarely four or five hairs are transferred from the back of the head to the receiving area The method is the most successful method practiced by most specialists hair clairvoyance around the world and give the results of natural appearance, as we avoid the appearance of hair-shaped bunches of hair in this way. The details of this method are as follows:
After assessing the patient’s condition and making sure that his condition is suitable for the transplant and free of surgical contraindications such as increased blood flow or weak wound healing or severe liver, kidney or heart disease, details of the procedure are explained to the patient and approval is given to the patient. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and does not require hospitalization, but it takes 8-10 hours depending on the situation and the area to be implanted. At first, a local anesthetic is performed to the posterior region of the head (the donor area). After that, a piece of skin that is not more than one centimeter long and whose length varies according to the case is then taken to a special thread after a week of operation.
This skin is then transferred to cool liquid and cut into thin pieces. Each hair unit is separated by one, two, three, and rarely four or five hairs. In the meantime, the anesthesiologist in the receiving area is provided in the same manner as in the donor area and then openings are made to insert the hairs inside them. These openings are made in certain directions and distances controlled by precise technical considerations. This transplantation process (ie inserting the bulbs into the dedicated openings) continues for several hours.
After the surgery is done, the patient will be put in the following evening to perform a shampoo wash in a special way so that the hair does not fall off, and the patient is alerted to taking sufficient rest and not to exert himself. A great effort, especially in the first week after planting, so as not to get out the hairs planted from their places. It is worth mentioning that the process of hair transplantation in this way is a common method in the world but it consumes a lot of effort, time and money. Usually the path of agriculture consists of the doctor and four to five trained technicians to separate the hairs from each other under magnifying lenses as well as to the process of inserting the hair in the openings assigned to it in the receiving area, which need a lot of patience and skill and concentration at the same time.
Hair transplantation is one of the most successful cosmetic operations, with minor, rare complications and can be easily treated. The most important complication of some pain after the operation can be overcome with sedatives, especially on the first day and in rare cases may occur inflammation in the place of the process, but this can be prevented or mitigated with appropriate antibiotics.
A new method emerged only a few years ago and is called the method of harvesting or removing the hair units FUE, a very time-consuming method in which the doctor take each unit separately from the donor area by a very small circular scalpel (1 millimeter) and then transferred to the receiving area. This method is characterized by the absence of surgical stitching in the donor area as in the normal way as well as hair can be obtained from places other than the back of the head, such as hair excess chest, for example. But the biggest drawback is to increase the cost of material and increase the time taken in the process with only a limited number of hair available for agriculture so as not to take the process of displacement for a long time. For all of the reasons cited, this method did not match the previous pattern (FUT).
In conclusion, the choice between these methods to stimulate or compensate hair is a joint decision between the patient and the doctor after giving a full explanation of the case and the treatment methods available.
