God created man in the best of the calendar, and deposited systems that perform multiple functions, and make them alert devices to warn the body of any danger, and the opening of the human means of collecting different science, to deal with diseases that affect the whole body, and urged the Islamic law to search for human (Interpretation of the meaning): “And in yourselves, do you not see?” And in the hadeeth of Usama bin Sharik, may Allaah be pleased with him, he said: He said: “Yes, O slaves of God Tadawwa, God did not put disease, but put a cure, but one disease, they said: O Messenger of God, and what is?
Medical definition
Is a test to examine the speed of deposition of red blood cells within a test sample, in order to detect changes in blood proteins, to link these changes to diseases in the body, and the extent of its response to the treatments provided to him.
To determine the mechanism of this examination, it is necessary to know the blood components by which the sedimentation is performed. ESR depends on the difference in the density of these components and is indirectly affected.
blood components
- Plasma: A liquid, transparent, non-specific liquid that transfers various nutrients. The difference between its density and the density of proteins in the blood is due to sedimentation.
- Red blood cells, which are concave tablets, contain hemoglobin, responsible for the transport of gases in the blood, especially oxygen, and any change in them in terms of increasing and decreasing their number leads to a change in the speed of blood deposition.
- White blood cells: These are called phagocytes; they work under the immune lines to defend the body, and their number is an indicator of the presence of inflammation, as the increase in number to increase the rate of rapid deposition of blood.
- Platelets, which work to prevent blood hemorrhage, by producing a fibrin generator; the decrease in their number leads to a slow sedimentation rate for ESR; it is associated with sickle cell anemia.
High rate of ESR
- Cancers, and lymphatic diseases.
- Inflammation of the bone system.
- Diseases that affect the blood from infections, and bacteria
- Aging, and anemia.
- During pregnancy, and during menstruation (menstruation).
- Some diseases such as: rheumatoid, vascular infections, tumors, autoimmune diseases, kidney disease, thyroid disease.
Principle of ESR work
The principle of ESR is the fact that inflammation changes the nature of the red blood proteins in a way that increases their density, making them precipitate faster than the non-infected red blood cells, indicating the presence of inflammation.
Indicators of low precipitation speed
- High hemoglobin, increased hemoglobin.
- Increase viscosity of blood, and low fibrinogen.
- Sickle cell anemia, or so-called sickle cell anemia, directly affects the number of platelets.
- Liver and kidney diseases that lead to lower blood proteins.
- Take some medications such as aspirin and cortisone.
- The most common cause of the high rate of ESR.
- Vena vasculitis, allergic.
- Tuberculosis and tuberculosis diseases.
- High blood fibroinogen.
