Foot cracks are problems that many people experience. They are cracks that occur in the area of the heel. They are characterized by the presence of dry skin that can be brushed and removed. Sometimes, these cracks are so deep that they can lead to pain when standing on both legs.
The area of the soles of the foot consists of a thick layer of cells so that the foot weighs the weight of the body. If the foot is exposed to drought, either because of the air or because of the use of certain detergents, this leads to dry water and moisture from this layer, therefore dry the skin of the feet and cracked.
This layer of skin in the soles of the foot is dead so the cracks can not heal and the skin does not return to its previous state due to the lack of blood passing through this layer.
The problem of cracking the feet is more common in people with diabetes, older people and sports players, but it can happen to anyone due to lack of care and lack of hydration.
Causes of foot cracks:
• Dry skin of the feet due to lack of moisture or frequent movement.
• Many sandals are worn because they are open from the back and expose the heels to dry or wear tight or high-heeled shoes.
• Excess weight of the body leading to increased pressure on the feet and cracking.
• Stand long times on solid or coarse floors or walk barefoot.
• Fungal infection and some skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis and some skin allergies.
• Diabetes and thyroid diseases.
• Low moisture from the feet, especially in winter because of the use of heating, too frequent exposure of the feet to water and soap, especially hot water leads to dry skin and lack of moisture.
• Vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
• Fracture of the feet may affect pregnant women because of increased pressure, so recommend wearing comfortable shoes and flat.
Cure foot cracks:
If you have a skin disease or a certain sensitivity, you should check with your dermatologist. If you are overweight, a certain diet should be taken to reduce excess weight and therefore reduce pressure on the feet. As for prevention and treatment can be followed:
• Permanent care of moisturizing the feet using moisturizers and natural oils such as olive oil.
• Focus on eating vegetables and fruits that contain vitamin E such as apricots, avocados, broccoli, almonds and parsley.
• Wear appropriate and comfortable shoes and avoid sweating feet.
• Avoid the use of hot water because it loses the skin natural oils and reduce their moisture and lead to dryness.
• Keep drinking water always to maintain skin moisture.
• Lemon juice: Immerse the feet in a bowl containing water and lemon juice for 10-15 minutes as it moisturizes the skin.
• You can make skin peeling using honey, apple cider vinegar and rice flour. Put the mixture on the feet after immersing them in warm water all night or mix 3 tablespoons of honey in warm water and soak them in for a quarter of an hour.
• Paraffin wax: Combines paraffin wax with coconut oil and is placed on the feet.
• Use of Vaseline: The two men are rubbed with a stone bath and then put Vaseline on them and left all night.
