Lice

Lice is a type of insect that harms humans, and causes many diseases, especially skin diseases; such as the emergence of pimples, itching, redness, and mental disorders, such as anxiety and tension. Lice are small in size, gray or brown, and have six legs with claws that enable them to hold on to hair even while bathing, and about 2.5 millimeters long.

They are found in different areas of the body, such as head hair, neck, shoulders, underarms and pubic areas, and are common among children in schools, nurseries, prisoners, overcrowded places, and people who lack hygiene.

Symptoms of lice infestation

  • Note the appearance of lice in the head by viewing it with the naked eye.
  • Itching or scratching caused by the presence of lice in the head.

Causes of lice

  • Use of injured person’s tools such as hair care and towels.
  • Contact with the infected person’s head and infection.
  • long hair.

Lice damage

  •  Psychological problems causes the person to be rejected by people and society.
  • Seizures and cuts in the scalp result from severe itching.
  • Sensitivity in the skin of the affected person (redness) due to saliva lice.
  • Causing secondary bacterial infections; as a result of lice absorption of the infected person, resulting in severe itching.
  • Swelling of lymph nodes that are around the neck area.

Treatment of lice

  • Lindane: Contains shampoo, lotion, or cream, and warns against using it for people under normal weight.
  • Malathaion: A laxative used to get rid of lice by placing it on the scalp. Use caution as it is flammable.
  • Use of gas to eliminate lice.

Herbal lice treatment

  • The black seeds: Mix a little black seeds powder with a little vinegar, and then massage the scalp with the mixture exposed to sunlight for 15 minutes, and after six hours the mixture is removed from the scalp, and for best results repeat this process daily and for a period of a week.
  • Parsley and anise: Mix a little aniseed oil with a quantity of parsley seed powder and then rub the scalp.
  • Onion and parsley: Mix the onion juice with parsley juice, with a little sesame oil, and massage the scalp with the mixture, and should be exposed to sunlight on a daily basis.
  • Mayonnaise and vinegar: Mix a few mayonnaise with a little vinegar and put it on the head; for the role of mayonnaise in the strangulation of lice and contribute to removing it from hair.
  • Honey and vinegar: Mix honey with vinegar and apply a scalp to children after shaving; to prevent lice infestation.
  • Tea tree oil.
  • Cucumber; using juice to get rid of lice.
