ECG: Electrocardiography
The ECG is used in medical clinics or hospitals to measure the electrical activity of the heart, which is usually used by doctors as a routine procedure before undergoing surgery, or for the detection of causes or diseases leading to chest pain, palpitations, etc., and does not cause the patient Any pain or pain, and in this article we will know you in detail.
History of ECG device
The first ECG device was invented in 1903, invented by the world of Einhoven, called the Cardiologist, and was referred to as the idea of the Galvanometer, which is responsible for measuring the power of the current, which was large in size and not very well made, With the development of the age and permanent improvements on this machine, it has become small and easy to use, and accurate in showing the result.
Device design
Five fundamental waves appear on the screen, each of which symbolizes a certain point within the heart. These waves are:
- Wave P: It is the first wave shown on the device, as it shows the removal of polarization due to the passage of electricity in the right and left atrium.
- Wave Q: Removal of polarization due to passage of current in the area of the barrier between the ventricles.
- Wave R: This wave is the highest in relation to the current of the current, indicating the removal of polarization of the left and right ventricles.
- Wave S: It shows the removal of polarization from the walls of the right and left ventricles.
- Wave T: They indicate that cells in both the right ventricle and the left ventricle have recovered.
ECG work
All of the heart muscles are charged with a negative charge, so the de-polarization is through the flow of a group of positive ions, namely sodium + and calcium ++, which flow to the ventricles by placing electrodes on either side of the heart. Device screen, or a custom thermal paper.
More than two poles can be used for planning. For example, one of the poles on the left hand, the second on the right hand, the third on the left leg, and so on.
Use of ECG devices
- Feeling pain and tightness in the chest.
- Random heartbeat, irregularity.
- Sense of difficulty and difficulty in breathing.
- Constant feeling of tiredness, fatigue, and inability to move.
- Excessive heartbeat or heartbeat.
- Diagnosis of some heart diseases.
- Follow the heart during the treatment of some types of drugs.
Types of ECG devices
- Cardioverter Converter: Known as Holter, a small device that is suspended on the body, for a full day, in order to obtain a full recording of cardiac activity.
- Painter: It measures the activity of the heart during physical exertion, such as walking, riding a bike, playing sports and others.
