Numb hands
The numbness of the hands is an abnormal condition. The person loses his or her feeling in the hand with a feeling of ache in it or in any other part such as the feet. The numbness of the hands occurs due to the lack of blood reaching that area of the body, the result of nerve damage, or the result of infection. Usually due to serious health problems only in rare cases.
Causes of hand numbness
Numbness of the hands due to a defect in the body
- Tearing the tendons causes pain in the arms, and numbness in the hands.
- Dysfunction in the thyroid gland, and thus a deficiency in the production of enough hormones.
- The presence of some water bags such as non-cancerous bags on the tendons that lead to numbness in the arm, hands.
- Lack of brain-to-hand blood supply is one of the symptoms of a stroke.
- Drinking alcohol constantly causes nerve damage.
- Disruption of the immune system causes nerve damage in many parts of the body.
- Dysplasia, fatigue, and physical exhaustion for hours without adequate rest.
- Exposure to bone fractures.
- Exposure to injury in the neck, or back.
- Poisoning with metals such as lead.
- Vitamin B12 deficiency.
Hand numbness due to diseases
- Osteoporosis.
- Decompression sickness.
- Diabetes is one of the reasons for numbness of the hands, and it is worth doing some tests to know the level of sugar in the blood.
Numbness of the hands due to neurological diseases
- Infection in the brain.
- Damage to nerves due to high level of fracture in the blood.
- Brain injury caused by viral infection.
- Multiple sclerosis.
- Inflammation of the spinal cord due to neurological disorder.
- Nervous pressure, which causes the pressure of the hand to numbness, as a result of unhealthy sitting for long periods, or because of a slipped cartilage.
Symptoms of hand numbness
- Feeling anxious.
- Feeling of burning.
- Lower back pain.
- Pain in the neck, and in any member of the body.
- Rash onset.
- frequent urination.
- Increased numbness during movement.
- Shortness of breath.
- Inability to walk.
- Blurred vision.
- The weight of the tongue.
- Paralysis.
- Loss of consciousness for some time.
Hand numbness treatment
- Wet cloth: Put a piece of wet cloth in hot water on your hands. Get rid of numbness of the hands as the high heat brings the blood to the numb side and relaxes the injured hand muscles.
- Olive oil and coconut oil: Massage the hands with a blend of coconut oil, olive oil and warm mustard oil as these oils get rid of numbness either in the hands or feet, and stimulate circulation.
- Playing sports : Exercising will eliminate numbness within a quarter of an hour and reduce numbness in the future.
