The olive is old
The olive tree is a perennial tree, which is thousands of years old. Many historical studies have shown that the age of this tree is more than six thousand years and has been estimated since the time of the flood. Olive oil has been used since ancient times and with the beginning of mankind. In the Holy Quran .(Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.) Al – Nour, verse 35.
It was also mentioned that when Noah was in the coffin he sent the dove to teach her that the water had come from the face of the earth, and the pigeon came back after him carrying a sheet of green olives in its mouth. Noah then learned that the water had dried up and the flood had receded. Olive is a symbol of peace.
