One day more than one feels positive, including what is negative, but in certain cases the feeling of a particular feeling may last and most likely have a negative feeling such as depression. Depression is very different from sorrow; grief is a natural feeling experienced by any person in his life, but depression is a psychological condition that adversely affects the activities of human day.

Depression is usually more common among women than men, and depression is more prevalent in young people than in young people and the elderly.

Symptoms of depression

  • Lack of desire to do anything:
  • Loss of desire for pleasures of the world.
  • Introversion and isolation and negative thinking.
  • Pessimism and looking at things with a black telescope.

Causes of Depression

  • The conditions of life : It is not possible to live on a stable ship without the existence of life’s despondency; dear death, marital and family problems, loss of employment, deterioration of health, financial problems, non-marriage and unplanned retirement.

Types of depression

  • Natural distress : The feeling of depression in humans have a specific cause of minutes or hours, and this type does not require medical intervention, and does not affect human life.
  • Natural grief : It is a feeling of depression when a person loses a certain person, disappears in days or weeks, and does not require medical intervention.
  • Adaptation disorder : This type of depression occurs as a result of a specific event of the injured, lead to change the nature of his life, and continue this type for several days and weeks and requires medication or psychological sessions.
  • major depression : One of the most serious types of depression; because it is accompanied by obsession, which extends for several weeks or more, and leads to dysfunction in the functions, and affects the mind, such as hearing voices and ideas of persecution, and may lead to suicide. This type is also called bipolar affective disorder.

Treatment of depression

Drug therapy

The drug treatment is safe for the patient with depression and does not lead to addiction, and the patient can take anti-depressants, which lasts for six months, although improved, to keep him in a good mood. These drugs are divided into groups:

  • Multi-Loops (Heterocyclic AD)
  • Serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIS)
  • Serotonin reuptake inhibitors and noradrenaline (NSRIS)
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI / RIMA)
  • Electric Massage Therapy (ECT)

Psychotherapy

It aims to improve the intellectual, social, and behavioral capacity of the patient, and It is divided into several types:

  • Cognitive therapy: A treatment that replaces the misconceptions of the person with depression with a more positive one.
  • Behavioral Therapy: Transforms depressive behaviors into more positive ones.
  • Psychotherapy schools: such as analytical and rational school and others.

Alternative medicine treatment

It is used in aromatherapy, such as: jasmine, bergamot, lavender, rose, and chamomile is also one of the most important essential oils that help to alleviate depression and calm the nerves.
