Fear or phobia is a mental illness characterized by fear of a particular source and fear is much more than the reason for it.
For example, all of us are afraid of snakes and move away from them if we come across, but the infected phobia snakes afraid of them in a double way, afraid of their image and even afraid of just mentioning its name, and say the same in the fear of heights, and fear of flying, fear of darkness, Conscious and excessive where he feels sweating and increased heart rate and difficulty breathing, fear is the reflection of normal fear paralyzing of will, and it is difficult for the patient to act to prevent danger.
Scientists have questioned the cause of this situation and arose several theories trying to explain the disease, including:
The theory of conditional coupling : The theory says that the reason for fear is to link the cause of fear with a certain emotional position, forget the human attitude with time and fear remains linked to the secondary cause.
For example, fear of the highlands: If the patient saw a loved one dies because of falling from a high place, that emotional position affects him remember his sadness and fear whenever he saw a high place, and with time may forget why he hated heights from the beginning (forget the death of the dear person) He only mentions his fear of the highlands until he becomes entangled in him and is prevented from practicing his normal life.
The second theory is called the theory of instincts: This theory says that fear is an instinct in every human being, and that some people tend to fear something more specific than others for no particular reason. Thus, according to this theory, a phobic snake, for example, is afraid of snakes because of an increase in the instinct of fear he has only.
Neurotransmitters Theory: This theory says that the cause of phobia is physical, not psychological, that the patient produces epinephrine in larger amounts than usual, and that when this amount is reduced (through anti-epinephrine drugs), the patient improves and lessens the abnormal fear of the source.
Genetics: Some studies have shown that a person with a particular source of phobia has a high probability that the disease will be reduced to their children. If a person is infected with HIV, there is a high probability that one or both parents will have the disease.
We see in our lives that many people who fear spiders, for example, inherit their children and fear spiders as well.
Perhaps inheritance is not the only reason. In many cases, fear is a tradition of the parents, so every mother and father must pay attention to his feelings and actions in front of his children until a healthy psychological generation emerges.
