Sputum
Sputum is a mucus that causes the blockage of the throat area, causing discomfort and discomfort to the person who is infected. The glands in the throat and nose produce about 1-2 liters of mucus a day. This mucus consists of cells lining the sinuses and passages. It has many important functions. It moisturizes and cleans nasal passages, fights infection and cleanses the air entering the body.
Symptoms of phlegm infection

Causes of phlegm
- Puncture at the end of the nose: It occurs as a result of increased mucus in the nose and throat, causing sputum and coughing in the person, and may occur this problem suddenly overnight, causing the discomfort of the person in the early morning.
- Cold or flu: During a person’s cold or flu, the body produces a thin, transparent mucus in the nose and back of the throat. Once the body begins to respond to the virus, the mucus becomes mucous and green or yellow.
- Pregnancy: Many women suffer from symptoms of nasal congestion, coughing and sneezing during pregnancy, which are very common symptoms as well as back pain and nausea in the morning, it is known that the hormone estrogen leads to increased production of mucus.
- Seasonal Allergies: There are a large number of people around the world suffering from seasonal allergies every year. Unlike colds, seasonal allergic reactions such as sneezing, coughing, itching in the eyes and, of course, mucus in the throat occur only once.
Eliminate phlegm in the throat
- Find out why a person’s sputum problem may arise. For example, if the problem is a result of allergies, you should stay away from things that are raised by cats, flowers, or other things.
- Stay away from food and drinks or bad returns that increase the production of mucus, such as soy products including milk and tofu, dairy products, smoking and other things.
- Eliminate phlegm by coughing vigorously, it is preferable to take this step in the bathroom, away from others so as not to get annoyed by the sound.
- Rinse with lukewarm water and salt, by mixing two tablespoons of salt in a glass of lukewarm water, and then rinse it.
