Catarrh or lethargy is a non-serious disease caused by a viral infection that affects the upper respiratory tract by breathing air that is contaminated with flying droplets from sneezing and coughing with colds, or touching infected hands, surfaces or instruments. The incubation period varies from infection to onset of symptoms. 24-72 hours. Symptoms vary from person to person, but are blocked by the baby, sneezing and sore throat. Colds usually last 3-7 days and may last for about two weeks for some patients.

Causes of colds

  • Overcrowding, and indoor seating is not well ventilated.
  • Infectious diseases.
  • Malnutrition, and lack of adequate amounts of vitamins, minerals and essential elements necessary for the health of the body.
  • Direct exposure to air when clothing is relaxed.
  • Do not wash the face before going out of the house, especially when moving from a warm atmosphere to a cool atmosphere.
  • Lack of attention to personal hygiene, and not to wash hands before eating, and after shaking hands.

How to get rid of colds

  • Take antibiotics, medicines and painkillers after consulting your doctor.
  • Take plenty of rest.
  • Drink lots of warm liquids, such as soup, vegetable soup, chicken soup, and medicinal herbs, such as chamomile and thyme.
  • Use salt solutions in the form of drops to relieve congestion.
  • Use medical ammunition or shower with warm water, inhaling steam to relieve congestion.
  • Drink plenty of juices rich in vitamin C, such as: orange juice; it enhances the immune system’s performance in the body.
