Lung

The lung is located within the respiratory system. Each lung is 20 cm wide and 9 cm wide. The lung density is less than the water density. The lungs vary in weight. The right lung weighs approximately 700 grams. The left lung weight is about 600 grams.

The right lung is divided into three sections, while the left lung is divided into two parts, and the right lung is larger than the left lung. The right lung is located at a lower height than the left lung because the liver is above it and pressed downward, and the lung resembles a piece of sponge.

The lungs store blood as a reserve for the time of need and, along with the rest of the respiratory tract, breathe, allowing oxygen-laden air to enter through the inhalation process, and allowing gases containing carbon dioxide to escape through exhalation.

The lungs are very sensitive to the body, and when they have problems that affect their ability to function, the life of the person is at risk, and the problems that may affect the lungs are the presence of amounts of water in them.

Lung water

The water in the lung is the water congestion inside the lung cells, which makes them saturated with water because they have previously mentioned as sponge, making breathing difficult, as the transfer of oxygen from the lung to the blood is difficult.

Causes of water congestion in the lung

  • Heart failure, because of problems that may affect the heart the most common is myocardial infarction, dysfunction, coronary valve obstruction and high blood pressure.
  • Congenital pulmonary hypertension.
  • Acute inflammation in the lung tissue causing damage and thus accumulation of fluid in them.

Methods of treatment of water congestion in the lung

In the beginning, the doctor must determine the cause of water congestion in the lung, and then describes the treatment that suits the patient’s condition, and these treatments:

  • So that the patient must leave the salt completely and not eat any foods containing salt, such as pickles and canapes.
  • Reduce the amount of fluids entering the body, especially soft drinks, and this is one of the most important steps of treatment in the case of pooling water on the lung, where the patient’s condition can stabilize when committed.
  • Take some medication treatments such as diuretics, and drugs that activate the heart muscle.
  • Heart and lung transplant instead of the infected if the cause of water pooling on the lung is high pulmonary pressure.

Note: Surgery can be used to treat heart disease, or a coordinated tumor and an electrical regulator can be used in the case of congenital myocardial infarction.
