sperm
The semen is a cell produced by the male reproductive system, which has a distinctive characteristic and is not seen by the naked eye. The sperm contains twenty-three chromosomes, which transfer the genetic material from parents to children through the fertilization process of the egg. The semen is made up of the three parts of the head, body, and tail. Sometimes, some abnormalities can occur in the formation of the animal. Which affects the ability to fertilize and reduces the possibility of pregnancy, but if pregnancy occurs with a deformation in the sperm, it does not affect the fetus and does not cause deformities, and the rate of incidence of abnormalities sperm is large in natural men and does not affect the amount of fertility.
Sections of sperm
- Head: It has a distinctive oval shape that helps in movement within the female reproductive system to carry out the vaccination of the egg and contains the head of the genetic material important in the formation of the fetus, and the head contains a vesicle secrete many enzymes that help the sperm to penetrate the wall of the egg.
- Neck: An area in the sperm that connects the head to the tail, and contains the neck on the device that helps in sperm movement.
- Tail: the longest piece of sperm, contributes to the movement and push the sperm towards the egg to stick and then vaccinate.
How do sperm abnormalities occur?
The testis produces millions of sperm on a daily basis, and there can be many sperm with abnormal shapes that differ from the normal picture of the sperm. Distortions can occur in any area of the head, neck or tail. The most common deformities that occur in the head area are a change in the shape of the head, so there is an enlargement in the size of the head and its shape is not pointed, or the size of the head is small, or contains two heads, affecting the ability of sperm to fertilize and penetrate the egg, The tail area includes the presence of more than one tail, the tail can be short, or twisted, most men can find a proportion of distorted sperm.
Causes of abnormal (distorted) sperm
The movement of distorted sperm is so slow that it affects the ability of sperm to fertilize, and the most important reasons for the existence of distortions:
- The presence of varicose veins in the testis.
- There is a defect in the genes, which affects the nature and quality of the sperm.
- Hormonal imbalance.
- Occurrence of abnormalities during semen formation.
- Weight gain.
- Misuse of medicines.
Treatment of increased sperm abnormalities
- Treatment of causes that cause deformities, such as varicose veins.
- Taking stimulant drugs for the test.
- Using reproductive aids such as artificial insemination in case of pregnancy.
- stop smoking.
