Skin pigmentation

Skin pigmentation is one of the problems that many people experience. It appears in the form of black spots, freckles as well as an uneven skin color all over it. This is a feeling of discomfort and embarrassment.

Types of pigmentation

  • Hyperpigmentation is caused by an increase in the production of melanin resulting in brown spots on the skin.
  • Hypoglycaemia caused by a lack of melanin production leading to light spots on the skin known as vitiligo.

Causes of pigmentation

  • Exposure to ultraviolet radiation, which in turn affects melanocytes, tends to increase or decrease melanin production, and other environmental factors lead to pigmentation.
  • Some injuries, such as wounds, can cause inflammation in the area to develop later and appear to be inflamed.
  • Some medications may cause pigmentation as a side effect when used as a treatment.
  • Some diseases that may cause skin discoloration, such as jaundice, in which the skin appears yellow, while other diseases may appear in the form of blue spots due to insufficient circulation of oxygen in the blood.
  • Exposure to some psychological conditions such as severe stress, which also affects the production of melanin in the cells.

Some natural recipes that help reduce pigmentation

  • Rub a piece of potato on the skin on a daily basis to get rid of dark spots.
  • A slice of lemon with two teaspoons of honey helps to lighten and whiten the skin and increase moisturizing.
  • Lemon juice with turmeric powder by mixing a tablespoon of turmeric with a little lemon juice, then put the face and leave it for 15 minutes, then wash it with cold water.
  • Red onions to remove pigmentation, black spots and freckles, by placing some onion slices and rub the place well to remove the juice contained within, and then leave for a period of not more than 10 minutes to wash after well.
  • Tablespoon cucumber juice with a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of lemon juice, to mix the ingredients well and paint on the face.
  • 2 tablespoons oatmeal with 1 teaspoon of yogurt and half a teaspoon of tomato juice, mix well and apply on the face, leave for no longer than 20 minutes, then wash the face with lukewarm water.
  • Mix the amount of vinegar with an equal amount of water, then rinse the face with this solution well.
