Down’s syndrome
Down syndrome is a defect in the person’s genes, which makes it characterized by physical and psychological characteristics, different from the natural human, and this problem occurs in the fetus’s womb before birth; because it produces the wrong divisions of the chromosomes, in normal fetus carries 46 chromosomes, 23 chromosomes of the mother and 23 of the father’s chromosomes, but in the case of Down’s syndrome he has 47 chromosomes.
Down syndrome is diagnosed during pregnancy through several tests done for the pregnant mother, and some are diagnosed only after birth through the form.
Symptoms of Down Syndrome
- Some apparent physical characteristics, such as: the neck and hands, the lateral shape of the face flat, the ears are small, the eyes are slanted, the mouth is small.
- Weakness, and muscle and joint relaxation.
- Decrease in IQ than normal general rate.
- Some may experience problems with the heart, intestines, breathing, and ears.

- Cubes, through which the child can form shapes, and parents can help him to form meaningful forms, and these cubes are available in different sizes depending on the child’s age and abilities.
- Toys that help to tighten and push; to strengthen muscles, such as small carts, or trains.
- Music games through which the child can press a button to produce a certain sound, and after a while can select the button responsible for issuing this sound.
- The system of beads and thread, through which the child put beads inside the thread; this helps him to strengthen the muscles of his hands and ability to focus.
- Specific color cards, some of which carry images of animals, can increase the child’s perception of color and animal images.
