Summary of Addison’s Disease

About Addison’s disease

• The adrenal gland is a dark gland consisting of two layers, the cortex layer, which produces sugar and metal crustaceans and androgens, and the pulp layer, which produces catecholamine.

• Sugary crustaceans regulate metabolism of the three main substances carbohydrates, proteins and fats, metal crustaceans regulate concentrations of salts and blood pressure, androgens responsible for the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics

• Adison’s disease is a deficiency of the adrenal gland caused by damage more than 90% of both times, and most cases are the result of autoimmune, so it is possible that the patient comes from Edison as part of the syndrome of multiple glands.

• Rare Edison disease in the United States, and affects more females than males in the case if the cause is autoimmune, and the peak of injury is 30-50 years.

Symptoms and signs include general fatigue, tiredness, weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, weight loss, abdominal pain, and muscle pain caused by the lack of sugary crustaceans. Low blood pressure, symptoms and signs of imbalance in blood salts, most important sodium and potassium are caused by the lack of mineral crustaceans, while the lack of body hair and lack of sexual desire is the result of a decrease in androgens. The observed increase in the hormone regulating the adrenal gland leads to hyperpigmentation

• Diagnosis of the disease is the test of the short synectin followed by an examination of the hormone regulating the adrenal gland or the long test Sinaktin to differentiate between the initial deficiencies (Edison) and secondary pituitary insufficiency. The presence of an imbalance in the salt confirms the existence of an initial deficiency.

• Treatment for the treatment of glucocorticosteroids by hydrocortisone or prednisone (with increased dose in stress, stress, disease and surgery) and for the treatment of crustaceans by fluorocortisone.

• Know the side effects of steroids, and take precautions that reduce the possibility of these effects

• Herbal treatment includes the use of green tea, ginger, licorice, turmeric, Ashwaganda plant and others.
