The Quran reminds Karim that pomegranate is the fruit of paradise, and given the contents of food, we find that about eighty-four percent of its weight is water, and the rest is protein, sugar, fiber, vitamins, and the most important benefits provided by pomegranates of the body:

  • Contributes to lowering the level of cholesterol in the blood, thus protecting the heart from many problems, in addition to the sexual problems caused by cholesterol for men.
  • Reduces the risk of skin cancer and prostate cancer.
  • Contains enzymes that protect the bone and cartilage from corrosion.
  • Opens appetite.
  • Strengthens the muscles of the uterus, and contains a substance similar to the material produced by the body at birth, called beta-sitosterol, and thus is useful to facilitate birth.
  • Improves digestion.
  • Reduces inflammation in the body.
  • Contributes to liver cleanse, prevention of cirrhosis.
  • Purifies the blood.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of cartilage by containing an enzyme that prevents corrosion, and contributes to protection against arthritis.
  • Reduces the risk of diabetes, as well as protecting diabetic patients from complications of diabetes.
  • Contributes to weight loss, it is rich in substances that stimulate metabolism and fat burning.

It is also used in the treatment of stomach pain, ulcers, esophagitis, and expulsion of intestinal worms by drying the crusts and adding them to other components such as milk, and can be used externally to dye hair.

There is no caveat on the use of pomegranates, whether inside or outside. It is recommended to eat the inner grains with the fresh crusts to separate them, to take advantage of the benefits together, and can be eaten fresh alone, or added to the authorities, or stored in the freezer for the time of need.
